Welcome to the Essex Heights website. Here you will find information about our school and the wide range of programs we have on offer.
At Essex Heights we provide a high quality education that is inclusive, differentiated and focussed upon the changing needs of our students. Importantly, we are preparing and empowering students for meaningful and responsible involvement in a changing global society.
Through our core values of respect, integrity, optimism and inclusiveness children develop positive attitudes and acquire skills that equip them for their future. All students are valued and nurtured within a safe, caring and stimulating school environment. Each child is encouraged, supported and inspired to reach his / her potential. Importantly through the provision of a diverse team of highly capable teaching professionals children develop a zest and interest for life long learning.
Through strong and enduring partnerships the whole community encourages and champions high expectations in all areas of school endeavour. The school promotes innovative and contemporary curriculum choices, differentiated to cater for the needs of all students. Our staff together with our parents engender a culture of connectedness and creativity as opportunities are sought and provided in a dynamic manner to create authentic experience.
Currently the school is excited about the completion of Stage 1 of the Building Futures Program. In December 2011 we occupied 13 brand new 'Learning Spaces' as well as a new Library and Administration Building. The opportunity to occupy these new 'Learning Spaces' has been a highlight of beginning the year in 2012 and the students and teachers are certainly enjoying the 21st Century buildings and technology. Demolition began for Stage 2 over the Christmas holiday period with the remaining buildings and playground areas being removed. This Stage is due for completion in August 2012 when we will move the final 7 classes into their new facilities. At that time, Essex Heights PS will have been completely rebuilt, and we look forward to an exciting future for our students, their families and the community we serve.
I invite you to phone the Office if you are interested in joining our school community, and we will be happy to arrange a tour.
