Start of School in 2018

The start of school for the 2018 Preps changed from past years. Term 1 commenced on Monday 29th January 2018, however this day is a statewide student free day for all Victorian government schools. Each government school is allocated three additional student free days in the school year. The first of these student free days at EHPS was on Tuesday 30th January 2018, therefore, our Years 1 to 6 students commenced on Wednesday 31st January 2018.

Prep students did not attend school between Wednesday 31st January and Tuesday 6th February, and commenced school on Wednesday 7th February 2018. In the first week of the school year, 31st January to 6th February, Prep students were allocated a School Entry Assessment (SEA) interview day and time; this was conducted with the child only and was approximately one hour in duration. In summary:

  • School Entry Assessment (SEA) - one hour interview with the Prep student scheduled between Wednesday 31st January and Tuesday 6th February.
  • On the first day of school, Wednesday 7th February, Prep students had a staggered start between 9am and 10am, and finished at 1.30pm.
  • From Thursday 8th to Friday 16th February, Prep students attended school from 9am to 2.30pm.
  • From Monday 19th February, Prep students began attending school full time from 8.50am to 3.30pm.
