2021 School Year

The 2021 school year commenced on Wednesday 27th January, and our Office opened. Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th January were student-free days at EHPS. Years 1 to 6 students commenced, and Preps attended their Meet & Greet session on Friday 29th January.

Term 1 commenced on Wednesday 27th January 2021. This day was a statewide student free day for all Victorian government schools; our Office opened on this day. Each government school is allocated three additional student free days in the school year. The first of these student free days at EHPS was Thursday 28th January. On these first two days of term, staff prepared for the start of the school year and participated in professional development.

Years 1 to 6 students commenced on Friday 29th January. 

Our incoming Prep students attended a Meet & Greet session on Friday 29th January, have their School Entry Assessment (SEA) interview between Friday 29th January and Thursday 4th February, and commence on Friday 5th February, starting at the designated time between 9am and 10am, and finishing at 1.30pm on this first day.

Start of 2021 School Year in summary:

  • Wednesday 27th January - Term 1 commences; statewide student-free day in all Victorian government schools. Office opens.
  • Thursday 28th January - EHPS student-free day
  • Friday 29th January - Years 1 to 6 students commence (8.50am to 3.30pm). Preps attend their designated Meet & Greet session.
  • Friday 29th January to Thursday 4th February - Prep School Entry Assessment (SEA) - one hour interview between the student and their teacher; parents/guardians do not stay. Uniform is not required. Students are to bring a water bottle to their SEA interview.
  • Friday 5th February - Prep students commence; Prep students will have a staggered start between 9am and 10am (specific time advised in school start letter), and finish at 1.30pm.
  • Monday 8th to Friday 12th February - Prep students attend school from 8.50am to 2.30pm.
  • From Monday 15th February - Prep students begin attending school full time from 8.50am to 3.30pm.

For our EHPS families:

  • Staggered start and finish times at designated drop off/pick up locations apply. Details including map provided via Compass on 27th January 2021. 
  • Compass is the primary form of communication with our school community. All EHPS families have been provided with log in details, and are reminded to check regularly for news and information. Please contact the Office if assistance with access or use is required. 
  • Ensure Student Permissions have been completed via Compass. 
  • Advise any change of family details (e.g. home address, phone number, email address, emergency contacts, family circumstances) in writing to the school email address.
