Children are encouraged to wear the school uniform every day. The uniform assists children to identify with the school and aids new students in their association with their surroundings.
Essex Heights is a SunSmart school. During Terms 1 and 4 all children must wear a hat during sport, recreational time and other curriculum activities outdoors.

New uniform is purchased from their retail store or online at www.psw.com.au. The PSW store is located at 342-350 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley.
The Parents & Friends Club (PFC) manage secondhand uniform sales. They run a secondhand uniform sale once a term if sufficient donations have been received. Dates are advertised in the Contact newsletter. Contact our Office if a secondhand uniform is required.
If your family is facing hardship or severe financial difficulties, you may be eligible for financial assistance to help meet education costs, including uniform. This support is provided by not-for-profit organisation State Schools' Relief (SSR). You are encouraged to talk to the Principal or Assistant Principal about your situation and they will assess what you can receive.
Students starting Prep who meet the criteria for Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) are automatically able to get help with uniforms through State Schools' Relief (SSR). A voucher will be provided to subsidise a winter warmer uniform package for the Prep student of:
Parents/guardians may need to contribute the difference in value between the voucher and the cost of the items.
All items of clothing worn by students or personal property brought to school should be named with the child's first and last name. This ensures that if an item is misplaced it can returned. Four lost property boxes are located around the school - outside the Eucalyptus, Banksia, and Violet buildings and the Stadium. Any unnamed uniform items not claimed prior to a PFC secondhand uniform sale may be offered for sale.
