Start of the 2026 School Year

Term 1 2026 commences on Tuesday 27 January, and our Office will open for the new school year on this day. We will welcome our new and returning Years 1 to 6 students on Thursday 29 January. Prep students commence with their school entry interview, and first day at school on Thursday 5 February.

The start of the 2026 school year at EHPS will be:

Monday 19 to Friday 23 January – OSHC program Summer Vacation Care; booking essential and closing Thursday 18 December 2025. 

Tuesday 27 January – Term 1 commences. Student-free Day in all Victorian Government schools. School Office opens. Care provided by OSHC program; booking essential. 

Wednesday 28 January – Student-free Day for all EHPS students. Care provided by OSHC program; booking essential. 

Thursday 29 January – Year 1 to 6 students commence. 

Thursday 29 January to Wednesday 4 February – Foundation (Prep) students attend their compulsory one hour school entry interview with their teacher at school on the date and time advised. 

Thursday 5 February – Foundation (Prep) students first day at school. Children start between 9am and 10am at the advised time, and finish early at 1.30pm. After School Care for Foundation (Prep) students from 1.30pm if required; booking essential. 

Friday 6 February – Foundation (Prep) students attend school from 8.50am to 2.30pm. After School Care for Foundation (Prep) students from 2.30pm if required; booking essential. 

Monday 9 February onwards – Foundation (Prep) students commence fulltime from 8.50am to 3.30pm.
