Essex Heights Primary School is a culturally diverse school community that can accommodate full fee dependant and temporary international students.

The process undertaken to enrol an international student in a Victorian government school is largely dependant upon the type of visa the student will hold during their stay in Australia. Our school can assist with any enrolment questions and enquiries. Students from language backgrounds other than English are eligible to attend the intensive English program at Blackburn English Language School (BELS) if they are:

• aged between 5 and 18 years; and
• a permanent resident of Australia; or
• the holder of an eligible temporary resident visa in Australia; and
• have been in Australia less than six months.

It is our experience that students who complete the BELS program will transition more successfully into our mainstream primary school.
